COFFEE CAKES 
2 pkgs. dry yeast
3 c. lukewarm water
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 to 5 sifters of flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
Grated rind and juice of 1 orange
3 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. melted butter
3 eggs, well beaten
Some scalded milk

Soften yeast in lukewarm water, with 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon salt. Mix well. Add 1 sifter flour and mix, let stand in warm place, until light and bubbly. Then add beaten eggs, melted butter, vanilla, orange, nutmeg, 3 sifters of flour, remaining sugar, and some scalded milk. Knead well, into a soft dough (dough should be softer than for bread). Let rise until double, then divide into 4 portions and put into 4 (8 inch) or 9 inch cake pans. Put Streusel on top and let rise again until double.

STREUSEL:

Work together with fingers 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar (brown sugar preferred) and 1 cup butter and 3 teaspoons cinnamon, until crumbly.
