18-20 apples
Apple cider
1/2 to 2 c. honey
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Make applesauce cooking the apples in cider instead of water. To 2 quarts of unsweetened applesauce, add the honey, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg. Cook in an enamel pot over low heat, stirring often until very, very thick. Spoon while hot into sterilized jars and process for 10 minutes.
