COLD OVEN POUND CAKE 
2 sticks of butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond
1/2 tsp. lemon
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cream together butter, Crisco, sugar. To this mixture add 5 eggs one at a time. Add flour and milk alternately (saving 1/4 cup milk to mix with baking powder). Add vanilla, almond and lemon flavoring to mixture.

Now mix the baking powder and milk together and stir in the batter. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube cake pan and bake. Place in a cold oven to start. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Eggs and butter should be at room temperature.
