CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS 
1 baking hen
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1 stick butter

Boil hen until done, debone hen and set chicken broth aside to cool. When cold you can skim off the fat and use the butter to make a rich broth.

Mix flour, salt, shortening and milk. Flour surface to roll out the dough. Roll out dough and cut into strips and strips into two pieces. Drop into boiling broth.
