NIEMAN MARCUS COFFEE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
1 1/8 c. milk
3 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 egg whites

TOPPING:

2 c. pecans, chopped
1 1/8 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. butter

Cream sugar and butter. Add milk alternately with flour, baking powder and salt, sifted together. Fold in egg whites, beaten stiff. Pour into two (9 inch) square pans or one 9 x 13 inch buttered pan. Cover with topping (all ingredients of topping are mixed together until crumbly). Bake at 350 degrees 40 to 50 minutes.
