MOUTH WATERING SUPER EASY POT
ROAST

1 pot roast that fits your slow-cooker
1 can Cola "classic"
1 envelope of Lipton's Onion Soup Mix

Place a 3-4 lb pot roast in slow-cooker (or large enough to fit the size of slow cooker you will be using).

Pour half an envelope of Lipton Onion Soup mix over the roast. Pour the entire can of cola over roast, and then top with remainder of soup mix.

Set slow cooker on high and cook for 4 hours. Turn pot roast over about half way through cooking time.

The meat falls apart - it's so moist! YUM!!!

Same recipe but instead of coke used 2 cups of "leftover" morning coffee. Used a whole onion separated in rings. Turns out fantastic! Never any leftovers...

Can I use a bottle of coke?

Yes, especially if it is MexiCoke. (100% real sugar!)

I've been making this for over 30 years, but never in a slow cooker, always used a browning bag. The difference is your cut of beef. If using top round, using the slow cooker for 4 hours will certainly help with the toughness. However, using a tenderloin will work in a browning bag.

Follow the instructions above for a browning bag. You can add a couple of cups of potatoes and carrots. Make sure you follow the browning bag directions for sealing.

Lastly, instead of using the au jus, remove the jus from the bag, carefully and place it in a skillet, make yourself a roux, add to jus and enjoy some of the finest tasting gravy ever.

I have had pot roast 10 different ways over the years. This silly idiot proof recipe is undeniably fantastic!!! I don't make it any other way now. Add some halved red bliss potatoes, baby onions and carrots to the crock pot about 45 minutes from completion and you have a complete meal.

This is the first time I'm trying a pork roast using 1 can of Cherry Coke... holding my breath. But from all the reviews, I'm confident it'll turn out good. Now I can't wait until its done.

I just wanted to say that when I read this recipe I was sceptical because of the fact that it calls for a can of coke to be poured on top of the roast. I read a lot of the reviews and basically kind of held my breath and poured it in.. it turned out awesome!!! Would definitely make again.

Using about a 2 lb pot roast and didn't have soup mix or Coke, so used some A-1 steak sauce, salt, pepper, garlic salt, added in what soda I did have: Wild Cherry Pepsi. Added in potatoes and set the cooker on High, and going to cook it for about 3 hours. For those that wondered about subbing Pepsi instead of Coke, will update an let ya'll know how it went.

I've not used Coke in my recipe, but I can tell you that ginger ale gives it a really neat almost Asian quality to it. (I made sure to get ginger ale made with sugar cane, not HFCS, btw.)

I was skeptical at first because using Coke sounded so unusual but I made this today and loved it. I won't cook a pot roast any other way. Thanks for sharing this! I did make a few changes because I didn't have onion soup mix. I just seasoned the meat and I also added veggies.

I tried this, but just couldn't leave well enough alone... so I read most of the reviews and then spun it a bit. I used the meat, coke and Lipton package as mentioned... but I first browned each side of the meat, and also added carrots, mushrooms and a can of beer. Same style as the recipe though, cooked for four hours and was pulling it like pulled pork by 9 last night! Great, simple recipe and you can spin it any way you like.

I use two envelops of beefy onion soup mix. I am allergic to soda so I sprinkle the roast with seasoned meat tenderizer. Then I add farfalle noodles to cook in the broth. If you want noodles instead of potatoes for your starch, they are absolutely full of flavor!

I used Vanilla Coke instead, we loved it. I also added veggies of course. Making it again for Christmas dinner!

It turned out fine... I was drawn to the recipe because of the unusual addition of Coke but next time I'll go back to cream of mushroom soup. I like gravy with my pot-roast!!!

I love this recipe but I also add 1 jar of chili sauce in with the onion soup and cola.
