APPLE CRUMB CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. oats
3/4 c. melted butter

Pat 1/2 mixture in 9"x13" pan. In saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons cornstarch, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 cup water. Cook, stirring constantly until thickened. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Slice 6 medium apples and add to cooked mixture tossing lightly to mix. Spread evenly over crumbs. Pat remaining crumbs over apples. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 50 to 55 minutes.
