BROWN STONE CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. flour (plain)
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. warm water
1 tsp. baking soda
Vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Mix flour and cocoa. Sift into butter and sugar mixture. Alternate with buttermilk. Mix soda with water and add. Add vanilla. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

ICING:

2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. canned milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Add melted butter to sugar. Stir in rest of ingredients. Bring to a rolling boil. Cook on low 45 minutes, stir occasionally. Beat and spread.
