2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3/4 c. shortening
16 oz. can applesauce
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chocolate syrup
2 1/4 c. flour
Nuts and-or raisins, if desired

Mix together and pour into greased and floured mold cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees about one hour or until tested done.
