BAKED CRANBERRY RELISH 
Instead of "plain" cranberries, this is a festive dish.

1 orange
1 lb. fresh cranberries
2 c. sugar
Dash salt
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
1/2 c. light rum or Kirsch (optional)

Peel orange and cut into 1 inch pieces. Using half the peel, cut into very thin slivers; set aside. Wash cranberries; place in 2 quart casserole and sprinkle with the sugar and salt. Add orange and slivers of orange peel; stir to mix.

Cover tightly and bake in 325 degree oven 1 hour or a little longer if necessary. Remove from oven and cool slightly. Stir in nut meats. Allow to chill overnight in refrigerator before serving. I mix the nuts and the light rum at the same time.
