PETE'S LASAGNA | |
2 1/2 - 3 lbs. lean ground beef 3 qts. tomatoes or homemade tomato sauce 2 or 3 good size garlic cloves, garlic press these into sauce of chop very fine 1 tbsp. oregano 1 1/2 lbs. Mozzarella cheese 8 oz. Parmesan cheese 8 oz. pkg. lasagna 1 tbsp. Italian seasoning 1 lb. Provolone cheese 8 oz. Ricotta cheese Add garlic, salt, and pepper to beef and sauce to taste. In one vessel, cook sauce 1 1/2 to 2 hours until all flavor desired is gotten, using garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and Italian seasoning. Add about 1/2 of Parmesan cheese as sauce is cooking. In another vessel, cook ground beef with salt and pepper added. After sauce has cooked its full time, put beef in sauce. After lasagna is cooked by directions on box, put 1 layer of cooked lasagna on bottom of a 4 quart oven-proof dish. Add layer of beef and sauce over lasagna. Top with grated Mozzarella and some Provolone cheese. Spoon about 4 tablespoons of Ricotta cheese on each layer. Repeat layers until vessel is full. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. |
