SWEDISH BREAD 
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sugar
2 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 egg

Mix together in large mixing bowl, 2 cups flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Mix together in small bowl butter, boiling water, evaporated milk and almond extract. Add together liquid and dry ingredients. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Add 1 cup flour and 1 egg. Beat at high speed for 2 minutes. Stir in 1 cup flour to make soft, workable dough.

Let dough rest for 5 minutes under mixing bowl. Knead 5 to 10 minutes. Roll out into rectangular shape. Cut into 3 strips, seal edges and braid. Place braided bread on large greased baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap and towel. When doubled in size, bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes, until bread is browned and sounds hollow when tapped. Place foil over bread while baking if bread browns too quickly.
