1 c. scalded milk & cooled to lukewarm 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. Carnation milk 3 eggs 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. Crisco oil 1 pkg. dry yeast soaked in 1/4 c. warm water 3 1/2-4 c. flour 2 cans filling Start yeast and water first than add all other ingredients and mix with mixer until won't take it, finish by hand. Raise once and raise again. Pat out flat and cut out rounds with glass and let raise until double in size. Make a well in each and fill with filling or of your choice of prunes, etc. Bake at just over 300 degrees to a light golden brown. Butter after taking out of oven. Cool and drizzle if desired. Makes about 4 1/2 to 5 dozen. |
