MANDARIN ORANGE SALAD 
1/4 c. sliced almonds
1 tbsp. + 1 tsp. sugar
1/2 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 head Romaine lettuce
1 c. chopped celery
2 green onions with tops, thinly sliced
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges

DRESSING:

1/2 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 c. salad oil
Dash Tabasco
1 tbsp. snipped parsley

Mix dressing in jar, shake and store in refrigerator.

ALMONDS: Cook almonds and sugar over low heat, stirring constantly until sugar melts and almonds are coated.

Tear lettuces, add celery and onion. Add oranges. Put in plastic bag, add dressing and almonds. Pour in salad bowl to serve.
