NUTTED BUTTER BARS 
NUT TOPPING:

2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. ground nuts

In small bowl of mixer beat eggs until foamy. Gradually beat in sugar and vanilla until thick and ivory colored. Gently stir in nuts; set aside.

DOUGH:

1 1/2 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Stir together flour and salt; set aside. In large bowl of mixer cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture until well blended. Spread in 13"x9"x2" baking pan. Spread evenly with topping. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely. Cut in bars. Keeps 3 weeks. Makes about 48.
