BAKED TOMATO CASSEROLE | |
1 tbsp. butter 1 onion, thinly sliced 1/2 tsp. salt 2 1/2 c. tomatoes, cooked (1 can) 1 c. soft bread crumbs (2 slices) 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated Melt butter. Add onions and salt. Cover and cook gently about 10 minutes (do not brown). Arrange onion in casserole dish. Add tomatoes, half the bread crumbs and pepper. Top with cheese. Brown remaining bread crumbs in 1 tablespoon of butter. Sprinkle over casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. |
