MY GRANDMA'S GINGER CAKE | |
1 c. sour milk 2 tbsp. molasses or dark Karo syrup 3 tbsp. lard or shortening 1 egg 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. nutmeg To sour milk, add 1 tablespoon lemon juice to 1 cup milk and let stand for five minutes. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Pour on a greased and floured 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. |
