FRENCH FRIED ONIONS 
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. plus 3 tbsp. beer
2 tbsp. melted butter

Sift dry ingredients together and stir into the liquid ingredients. Mix until smooth. Cover and refrigerate batter for 1 hour. Slice 3 Bermuda onions in 1/8 inch sliced and coat rings in 1/2 cup flour. Heat cooking oil, 1 1/2 to 2 inches in depth, to 375 degrees. Dip flour coated onion rings in batter, using tongs, and dry in hot oil until golden on each side.
