FRIENDSHIP CAKE 
Some DON'TS:

Don't put in refrigerator.

Don't seal starter.

Don't freeze starter.

Don't fill pans over 1/2 full.

Some DO'S:

Do cover with gauze-cheesecloth.

Do use a 1-gallon glass jar to put the starter in.

DO STIR DAILY.

Do grease and flour pans.

First day: 2 1/2 c. sugar 1 qt. peaches (with juice), diced

STIR DAILY!

11th day: Add - 1 (#2) can crushed pineapple (with juice)

STIR DAILY!

21st day: Add - 2 (9 oz.) jars maraschino cherries (with juice), chopped

STIR DAILY.

31st day: Bake.

CAKE RECIPE:

1 1/2 c. fruit (NOT JUICE)
1 box white or yellow cake mix, with pudding
2/3 c. oil
4 eggs, beat slightly
1 (3 oz.) box instant vanilla pudding
1 c. chopped nuts
2/3 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift cake mix into bowl and add the rest of the ingredients. Stir by hand until well-mixed. Pour into greased and floured pans. Bake at 325 degrees.

Approximate baking times: Tube cake - 75 minutes; loaf cake - 60 minutes.
