SWEET AND SOUR PORK WITH
PINEAPPLE
 
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 clove garlic (opt.)
Salt & pepper
Garlic & onion salt
1 pork chop
1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. light soya sauce
1/4 c. pineapple juice
2 tbsp. pineapple tidbits

Serves 1. Heat oil and garlic in a heavy skillet using a medium flame. Season pork chop and brush with 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch. Brown chop on both sides. Add 2 tablespoons water, cover and let simmer over a low flame for about 30 minutes. Push chop to one side. Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water in a bowl, add vinegar, sugar, soya and pineapple juice. Add this mixture to the skillet, stirring cornstarch until it thickens. Add juice or water if necessary. Add pineapple and cook another 1 to 2 minutes. Place chop on plate, then pour sauce over it.
