SOFT GINGERSNAPS 
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. molasses
4 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger

Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs. Add molasses. Sift together flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, and ginger; add to first mixture. Roll in balls and shake in bag of sugar. Place on cookie sheet. Bake at 275 degrees for 15 minutes.
