POPCORN BALLS 
2 1/2 qt. popped corn
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

In a heavy saucepan mix sugar, water, syrup, salt and vinegar. Stir over heat until dissolved. Cover and bring to a brisk boil, boil 3 minutes. Uncover and cook to hard boil stage. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Butter the bottom and sides of a bowl. Add popcorn, then slowly pour syrup over corn, stirring popcorn as you pour. With buttered hands form popcorn into 2 1/2 inch balls. Yields: 10 balls.
