ORANGE BREAD | |
1 c. orange peel 1 c. sugar 1 c. water BREAD: 1 c. milk 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 tbsp. butter, melted 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder Pinch of salt 3 1/2 c. flour Peel 3 large oranges. Place peelings in a blender, a few at a time to grate orange peel. Boil orange peel in water with sugar until it makes a syrup. Cool. Mix bread ingredients in order given, beating flour well after each addition. Add 1 cup of orange syrup and mix well. Bake in greased loaf pans at 350 degrees for about one hour. Makes 3 small or 1 large loaf. |
