PLUM KUCHEN 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
6 tbsp. milk
4 to 5 fresh plums, halved

Sift together pre-sifted flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Cut in shortening. Combine the egg and milk. Stir the liquid into the dry ingredients. Spread in a greased pan, 8 x 8 inches. Cover the top with plum halve (cut side up) and sprinkle with streusel topping. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes.
