1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sour cream

Mix shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Blend dry ingredients; add to sugar mixture alternately with sour cream.

Divide dough and roll out to 1/4-inch thickness on well-floured cloth. Cut with 2-inch cutter and place on greased sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at 425 degrees.
