2 3/4 c. cake flour, sifted
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
4 eggs
2 egg yolks, save whites for icing
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Mix Crisco, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until blended. Add salt, baking powder, flour and milk. Beat for 10 minutes. Grease and flour 9 inch cake pans. Pour in batter and bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes. Shake layers loose and turn on cake racks to cool. Ice when cool.

ICING:

1 c. Crisco
1 box confectioners' sugar
2 egg whites
1/4 c. milk
1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla

Beat all together. Spread on one layer. Then put 2nd layer. Ice sides and top.
