2 sticks butter
3 c. sugar
1 c. sweet milk
1 tsp. vanilla
6 whole eggs
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. lemon

Mix butter and Crisco; add sugar and 1 egg at a time. Mix flour and baking powder together and add this to mixture. Alternate with milk. Add flavoring and beat until smooth.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
