APPLE STREUSEL MUFFINS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
2 baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. unpeeled apples

Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl until well blended. Break eggs into another bowl. Add sour cream and melted shortening. Whisk until well blended. Stir in diced apples. Pour egg mixture over dry mixture. Fold just until dry ingredients are moistened. Spoon into lined muffin cups. Top with topping mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until brown. Cool 1 hour before eating.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. flour
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Mix all topping in bowl; mix with a fork and crumble with fingers and spread on muffins. Makes 12 muffins.
