OATMEAL CRANBERRY SQUARES 
2 c. cranberries
1/2 c. crushed pineapple
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. oats
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt

Boil first four ingredients for 1/2 hour until thick. Remove from stove; add vanilla. Mix next 6 items until it resembles crumbs. Place half the mixture in a 7x11 pan. Press in firmly. Add cooled cranberry mixture; spread evenly. Add remaining crumbs on top. Bake 25 minutes in 400 degree oven. Cool and cut in squares.
