OATMEAL CRANBERRY SQUARES 
1 can whole cranberry sauce
1/2 c. crushed pineapple, well drained
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 c. shortening

Mix together cranberry sauce, pineapple and vanilla; set aside. Sift soda and salt with flour. Crumble all dry ingredients with the shortening. Spoon half of crumbled mixture into well-greased 9 x 13 inch pan; pressing it in firmly. Spread with cranberry-pineapple mixture. Cover with remaining crumbs. Bake for 25 minutes in 400 degree oven. Cool and cut into squares. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. 12 servings.
