APPLE RING SALAD 
1 qt. apple juice
Several drops red food coloring
6 whole cloves
2 sm. sticks cinnamon
1 whole nutmeg
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. (slivered) almonds
2 tbsp. cooking sherry
3 env. unflavored gelatin
1/3 c. water

Heat apple juice. Add food coloring to make a bright red. Add next six ingredients. Simmer 5 minutes. Remove spices and almonds. Soften gelatin in cold water. Dissolve in apple juice. Pour into 4 1/2 cup ring mold. Cool and chill until firm. Unmold on serving plate and garnish with apple slices and walnut halves.
