CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. water
1 stick butter
1/2 c. oil
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together sugar, flour, soda and cinnamon. Set aside, in a saucepan, place the butter, oil and cocoa. Bring to a boil and pour over dry ingredients, mixing well. Set aside.

Mix together the buttermilk, eggs, water and vanilla extract; add to chocolate batter. Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Start Chocolate Icing about when cake is done and frost in pan.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans, optional

Place butter, cocoa and milk in saucepan; bring to a boil, remove from heat. Then add sugar, vanilla and nuts. If confectioners' stay lumpy, beat with electric mixer.
