MOLASSES SUGAR COOKIES | |
3/4 c. shortening 1/4 c. Brer Rabbit green label molasses (light) 1 egg 2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt Melt shortening in 3 or 4-quart saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat; let cool. Add sugar, molasses, and egg; beat well. Sift together flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and salt; add to first mixture and mix well. Chill for at least 2 hours. Form into 1-inch balls; roll in granulated sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet 2-inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. |
