ST. JOHN'S BANANA BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 lg. mashed bananas
1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
1 tbsp. melted butter, cinnamon sugar mixture

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Mix in sifted dry ingredients. Beat in mashed bananas. Add nuts. Pour into two greased and floured aluminum (reusable) pans. Bake 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.

While cakes are still warm, spread butter over top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Can also make 5 little loaves. Bake 30 minutes.
