BAKED SWISS STEAK 
1 1/2 to 2 lb. round steak
1/2 c. flour
Salt and pepper
1-2 tbsp. shortening or oil
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 pkg. Lipton's onion soup mix
1 c. water
1 can tomatoes
4 med. carrots, cut up
4 med. potatoes, cut
1 piece celery, cut
1/2 green pepper, sliced

Pound flour into steak; add some salt and pepper and brown in the shortening.

Transfer to large casserole for baking. Mix the soup mix in the water. Pour mixture over steak, and add carrots, potatoes, celery, tomatoes, and green pepper. Cover and bake 1 1/4 hours at 350 degrees. Uncover; add parsley and bake 15 minutes more.
