SOFT PRETZELS 
2 (16 oz.) loaves frozen whole wheat bread dough, thawed
1 egg white, lightly beaten
1 tsp. water
Coarse salt (opt.)

Thaw bread in refrigerator overnight. Roll dough into 24 (1 1/2") balls (about 12 balls from each loaf of bread). Roll each ball into a rope about 14" long. Shape each rope into a pretzel by forming a knot and looping the ends through. Place pretzels 1" apart on a well greased cookie sheet. Let them stand about 20 minutes. Combine egg white and water. Brush on pretzels. Sprinkle with salt, if desired. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. (You could also form the dough into letters of the alphabet or holiday shapes.)
