GRANDADDY'S GOULASH | |
My Dad liked to make it on Sundays in the winter time. It has been a family favorite for over 50 years and I am glad to share it! 3 or 4 potatoes or 2 cans diced potatoes 2 cups water 1 lb. ground beef 1 onion, diced or 1 bag frozen diced onion 1 can sweet creamed corn garlic, Worcestershire, salt, pepper butter Dice potatoes and boil in 2 cups of water, meanwhile brown ground beef with diced onion. Drain off grease. Add beef and onion to potato pot, Add creamed corn. Season to taste with garlic, Worcestershire, salt and pepper, Add as much butter as you like to the pot or to individual bowls. For a soupier Goulash use more water and 2 cans of creamed corn. For a thicker Goulash add instant potatoes For a quicker Goulash used diced canned potatoes This dish is really good with bread and butter. It is easy to do your own variation too. If you like more corn add a can of sweet whole corn. If you don't like it so sweet, use regular cream corn. Shoe peg corn is a good variation. Daddy liked to make it spicy hot sometimes, with lots of black pepper, that was good too. Try making yours spicy hot. Have fun and enjoy! Submitted by: Emilie Rose Laurent |
