1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 c. butter or Crisco
2 eggs

Sift together salt, soda and flour. Cream sugar and oil. Add eggs to creamed sugar and shortening. Add sifted salt, soda and flour; mix well. Add vanilla. Roll out thin and cut. Bake at 400 degrees until brown.
