1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 tbsp. sour milk (sour milk 1/2 c. add 1 tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice)
1/2 tsp. baking soda
About 5 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar and beat in eggs. Add milk and vanilla. Add soda to flour; add enough flour to make a stiff dough (a little at a time, not all at once). Roll out dough and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown around edges, then remove.
