CAROLINA POUND CAKE | |
3 c. sugar 6 eggs at room temperature 2 sticks butter 1/2 c. crisco 3 1/4 c. plain flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. lemon Cream sugar, butter and crisco for 10 minutes or until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add salt and baking powder to flour and vanilla and lemon to milk. Alternately fold in flour and milk mixtures. Bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours. Make icing of your choice. |
