ALMOND MACAROON BARS 
CRUST:

1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter, softened
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. For Crust: Combine all crust ingredients in smaller mixer bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until particles are fine, 2 or 3 minutes. Press on bottom of ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.

FILLING:

1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. toasted slivered almonds

For Filling: In same mixer bowl, combine sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, 1-2 minutes. Stir in coconut and nuts. Pour over hot crust. Continue baking for 15-20 minutes.
