BLUEBERRY BRAN MUFFINS 
1 c. whole bran cereal with wheat germ
3/4 c. milk
1 egg
1/4 c. soft shortening
1 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. fresh blueberries, washed and drained

Combine cereal and milk; let stand until moisture is taken up. Add egg and shortening, beat well. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Mix in blueberries. Add to cereal mixture; stir only until combined.

Fill greased muffin tin 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes. Serve immediately with butter.
