FROSTED CHOCOLATE DROPS 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
2 oz. chocolate, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped

Combine shortening, brown sugar, egg, melted chocolate, vanilla and salt. Beat thoroughly. Sift flour and baking soda together. Add to first mixture alternately with milk. Mix well. Stir in nuts. Drop rounded tablespoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes in 350 degree oven. Frost top of cookies with powdered sugar frosting. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
