GRANDMA BIRD'S 1 BOWL ROLLS 
2 3/4 - 3 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
5 tbsp. butter, soft
2/3 c. very hot water
1 egg, room temp.

In large bowl, mix 3/4 cup flour, sugar, salt and yeast. Add butter and slowly add hot water. Beat 2 minutes on high. Add egg and 1/2 cup more flour and beat 2 more minutes. Knead 8 minutes. Let rise. Punch down and put in refrigerator or make rolls. Let rise. Use flour as needed. Put in 2 (8x8) pans and bake. Makes 2 dozen rolls. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
