GINGER SNAPS 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
4 tbsp. Brer rabbit molasses
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda (in a little hot water)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger

Mix well, roll in small balls, then in sugar, don't press down. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. I always double this recipe, as they will keep all winter.
