SZECHUAN PORK | |
1 lb. fresh lean pork 6 to 8 green onions 1 green or red sweet pepper 1 1/2 c. fresh broccoli 1 lg. onion 12 edible pea pods 3 tbsp. oil SAUCE: 2 cloves garlic 2 slices fresh ginger, chopped 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper 2 tbsp. hot water 2 tsp. sugar 6 tbsp. catsup 4 tbsp. soy sauce Cut pork into thin strips. Cut green onions, peppers, broccoli and onion in 1 inch pieces. Combine garlic, ginger, pepper, hot water, sugar, catsup and soy sauce. In wok or large skillet, heat the oil. Stir-fry the pork until browned. Remove and keep warm. Stir fry the vegetables until tender-crisp. Add pork and sauce; cook until thickened. Serve with boiled rice. |
