STUFFED STEAK | |
1 beef top loin steak, cut 1 1/2" - 2" thick (about 1 lb.) 2 tbsp. chopped mushrooms 2 oz. diced ham (1/2 c.) 2 tsp. snipped parsley 1/2 slice of Swiss cheese 2 tbsp. chopped onion 2 tsp. butter 2 tsp. fine dry bread crumbs 2 tsp. cooking oil Cut a deep slit horizontally in the steak to form a pocket. Cook the onion and mushrooms in butter until tender. Stir in the ham, bread crumbs, parsley, oil and pepper. Cook for 2 more minutes. Spoon the mixture into the meat pocket and place the cheese into the pocket. Secure the pocket with a skewer. Place the steak on a broiler pan (or grill) and broil for 8 minutes on each side. |
