5 lb. boneless roast 2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. Black Night barbeque sauce 1/2 c. apple cider or juice 8 carrots, cut in half 6 potatoes, quartered 2 onions, cut lg. 10 oz. white okra, fresh or frozen Rub meat with salt. Melt shortening in Dutch oven. Add meat and brown on low heat. Pour Bar-B-Q sauce and apple cider over meat. Cover and simmer or put in oven 325 degrees for 4 hours. Add carrots, potatoes and onions 1 1/4 hours before time is up. Add okra 15 minutes before done. |
