MOM'S COBBLER 
1 c. self-rising flour
1 c. milk
1 egg, beaten (optional)
1/4 c. sugar (optional)
1 qt. fruit: peaches, blueberries, blackberries
1 c. sugar
1 stick butter

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Melt butter in ovenware dish in the oven. While on the stove, cook fruit and sugar until just boiling. Combine in a bowl the flour, milk, egg, sugar. Whisk. Don't worry about a few small lumps. Slowly pour batter over and around melted butter. Slowly spoon fruit in cook until golden, 30 to 45 minutes.
