CORN BREAD DELUXE | |
2 c. yellow cornmeal 4 tbsp. flour 2 tsp. salt 4 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 4 tbsp. shortening 2 c. boiling water 4 egg yolks 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring 4 egg whites (beaten stiff) Combine cornmeal, flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Add shortening and boiling water. Stir until shortening is dissolved. Add beaten egg yolks and flavoring. Beat well. Fold in egg whites. Pour in a large greased baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees 25 minutes. Speed is the secret. |
